» Water Conservation Workshops

This project’s key goals are to provide an arena for water utilities, special districts, other water providers and those with an interest in Colorado’s water to:

  • Develop a consistent set of definitions and nomenclature regarding water conservation, water use efficiency and wise water use;
  • Learn about what constitutes meaningful water conservation planning and implementation from a practical, economic, political, and legal perspective;
  • Highlight and educate water planners on the state and other resources available to provide technical, financial, and other assistance to those looking to develop and implement more meaningful water conservation programs in the state; an
  • Share data and stories regarding past successes and failures regarding water conservation, water use efficiency, and wise water use that have occurred on a local level across the state.

In addition, we seek to markedly increase the number of water managers who: (1) use the Office’s Water Conservation Plan Development Guidance Document; (2) seek individualized assistance from the Office, the Colorado WaterWise Council and other groups; and (3) include more conservation and efficiency in their water planning efforts.

Examples of presentations given at our various workshops are available at the link below.
