GWI has recently developed a SMART WATER Audit program, which is available to help residential, commercial and institutional water customers become more water (and energy) efficient. We have received private funding support for these programs, and we have been the recipient of donated equipment from Caroma and Home Depot.
Working with the Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District, we have initiated a demonstration SMART WATER Audit program with local hotels and restaurants. These first few audits have identified combined water and energy savings of thousands of dollars a year with a return on investment realized in many cases to be within weeks to months.
We have also performed SMART WATER Audits on various irrigation only customers in Pagosa Springs and Castle Rock. We also evaluated water use in the parks for the City of Brighton.
